Summary:
Louisa Clark lives a simple life in her childhood home, living with her mother, father, sister, grandfather, and nephew. She then has to find a new job and ends up getting a job as a personal caregiver to a quadriplegic man. Will Traynor loved living life to the fullest before the accident. The unlikely pairing start to grow fond of each other once Will starts to actually let Louisa take care of him properly.
My Thoughts:
I have just gone through so many emotions in the past 2 days. I am not coping.
I loved Will Traynor, and I loved his and Louisa's relationship. They constantly talked to each other in witty remarks and sarcastic conversations. This was my favorite part, right in the middle of the book when Will realized that Louisa wasn't that bad.
I didn't really like any of the other side characters besides Nathan. They were all kind of annoying and didn't really have a substance to them.
It made me feel hopeful for Will's recovery throughout the book even when him and Lou went to the concert together and Will seemed to really enjoy himself in the music.
This story has absolutely shattered my heart. I honestly thought Will had changed his mind when they were on holiday and I was utterly devastated.
The ending is so heartbreaking. I just sat there with tears trailing down my face whilst Lou read the letter in Paris and I still feel hollow inside from it.
I also loved Lou's family, because it reminded me of my own:
"I wanted to savor these moments, of them briefly forgetting their troubles, in shared jokes and familial fondness."

This book will capture your heart and leave you in a sobbing puddle full of anger and sadness. I don't think I will ever forget this story and the emotions I felt throughout. But I don't think I will read the sequel, After You, I just don't think I would enjoy it.
I gave this book a 4/5 stars!
