July Wrap-Up and August TBR

July Wrap-Up

  • Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour (4/5)
  • Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (4/5)
  • The BFG by Roald Dahl (4/5)
  • Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (4/5)
  • Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson (3/5)
  • Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch (4/5)
I had a very good month! I had enjoyed all of my books this month and all of them but one was a 4 star! I didn't really stick to my TBR that much this month because I forgot to add in the books I was bringing on vacation. So most of my TBR from July has shifted to August.

August TBR

𐄂Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger (DNF'd at page 46)
𐄂Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer (DNF'd at page 21)
𐄂Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
𐄂The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman
Confess by Colleen Hoover
𐄂Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon
𐄂Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly (DNF'd at 15%)
𐄂A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
𐄂Coraline by Neil Gaiman
𐄂The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
𐄂Tulip Fever by Deborah Moggach
𐄂It by Stephen King

I realize this a very ambitious TBR for August but I'm really excited to get all of these reads in before school starts. I do start my job regularly this month and I have to finish up my summer homework. I also have driving lessons because I can get my license this month. I am going to my grandparents house for a few days and I can easily finish so many books there because it's so peaceful at their house. I do realize that some of these books are quite large (aka It) but I want to get through the chunkier books before school but it all depends if my local library has some of these because I don't own all of these books so I'm going to try my hardest to finish all of these!

Update 8/2/17: I have already DNF'd 2 books this month. I just couldn't get into either of them even though they are both highly praised books. I think I might be turning into a mood reader which kinda sucks because I like sticking to a TBR. I think it was also a combination that I didn't like the writing style of either one. Friday Night Lights is very detailed and in depth of things I didn't even really care about so I got very bored. And Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close has a MC that is a 10 year old boy who keeps jumping from one thought to another. I might watch the movie though I haven't decided yet.

Update 8/13/17: Hello! My computer is finally fixed! My uploads are all out of whack, but at least they uploaded while I was computer-less. I have had a terrible time trying to read. Nothing is really doing anything for me at the moment and it sucks because I was looking forward to a lot of books but I just haven't liked them. Like I've already DNF'd 3 books and I usually finish books. I think I'm just in a funk right now. I couldn't get through Hidden Figures because the writing just bored me to death. Anyway, I'm currently reading Dragonfly in Amber and it's good but I can already tell it's not as good as Outlander was. I'm also listening to Confess on audiobook and I have mixed feelings on it right now.
